Cervalis Announces Successful Completion of SSAE 16 Audits
North American Data Centers Attain Certification
Shelton, CT - November 9, 2011 - In an effort to continuously provide customers high-quality operational standards and controls, IT infrastructure solutions provider Cervalis announced that it has completed the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 SSAE 16 SOC 1 audit certifications for their North American Data Centers.
SSAE 16, a standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for service organizations, replaces the previous SAS 70 standard for service providers who wish to prove a high level of control effectiveness to independent auditors based on the ISAE 3402 standard. This certification validates that an organization delivers fully secure, reliable, effective operating environments with the proper controls for conducting high availability IT and Internet operations and are required by all industries and especially by customers that deal with financial transactions or critical data.
The SSAE 16 audit was performed through meticulous reviews and tests of Cervalis' operational procedures and operational controls by leading independent auditor BrightLine CPAs & Associates, Inc. The audit provides customers with a uniform report which can then be provided to its’ enterprise clients ensuring them that policies and procedures are sound and that their critical internet services and data are secure."
“For the past 10 years, Cervalis has been undergoing an annual SAS 70 Type II audit, therefore, SSAE 16 is a natural progression which continues to attest to our customers the high level of quality and controls we have implemented in our operations,” said Mike Boccardi, President and CEO of Cervalis. “Cervalis is committed to perform the SSAE 16 audit annually”, added Boccardi.
The audit report is available to all Cervalis customers.
