Cervalis Renews Annual Cybertrust Service Provider Certification
Cervalis' Security Operations Validated by Top Independent Risk Management Firm

Cervalis has once again successfully achieved Cybertrust’s Certification for all of their data center facilities. The certification reflects Cervalis’ continued adherence to extensive and diligent security processes, and validates the continuous use of risk reduction measures.
Cervalis updated their highly demanding Cybertrust Perimeter security management program certification. Cybertrust is a leading provider of intelligent risk management products and services, and continues to be a standard for secure IT and Internet operations. To become a certified customer, all security controls, policies, and procedures are examined and validated by Cybertrust. All aspects of information security, ranging from network and system vulnerability analysis to physical and policy evaluation are audited. The certification tests are performed regularly, and companies must meet all of the standards in the program in order to maintain the certification. The Cybertrust Perimeter security program addresses six categories of risk, including privacy, electronic threats and vulnerabilities, malicious code, physical security, human factors, and downtime issues.

The goal of the Cybertrust Perimeter security program is to verify and audit security controls at every point within Cervalis’ network infrastructure, and continuously check them to ensure that they are met. Evaluation procedures under the Cybertrust program include repeated external and internal network scanning of the critical devices in Cervalis’ network; network configuration reviews; onsite inspections of Cervalis’ physical environment, including susceptibility to theft, and Cervalis’ perimeter physical defenses, such as gates, locks, surveillance devices and alarms; and reviews of information security policies and procedures.
